Thank you for joining Next American City in Detroit for the latest stop on our URBANEXUS tour. While in town, we partnered with model D to host a conversation about the economy and Detroit’s attempt to reposition itself as the city of opportunity. Moderator Dave Egner of the Hudson Webber Foundation and our panel of Detroit converts - Kirsten Ussery of Detroit Renaissance, Luis Croquer of the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Meghan McEwen of CS Interiors and Toby Barlow of the JWT Team Detroit - discussed the disconnect between the preconceived notions about the cit and the reality of moving into Detroit.
An interactive question and answer session generated lots of excitement about fine-tuning Detroit’s image. Audience members left thinking of ways they can share the excitement of Detroit with out-of-towners fearful of visiting the city.
Immediately after the panel conversation, Next American City and model D hosted a VIPreception at the gallery at the College for Creative Studies. Nearly 100 attendees enjoyed food, drinks and further discussed the topic of the evening.
