Remember when Next American City Editor-in-Chief Diana Lind asked readers just under three weeks ago, “Can anyone out there make a map of all the cities that are mentioned in these songs? It would be cool and we’d post it somewhere.” She was of course referencing the playlist put together by DJ Doug Sell for our Issue #20 Release Party. And wouldn’t you know it, someone went out and made the map!

The New York Sun, a conservative paper that was almost entirely freely distributed to the wealthier zip codes of New York, has failed to finance its future. I should be cheering the demise a paper with an editorial page almost as heinous as the Wall Street Journal‘s, but I’m much more concerned about the relationship between cities and their papers.
