Open data advocates are eager to get more cities to embrace their vision of transparency and citizen participation. City officials, on the other hand, are more worried about the risks of letting the public have unfettered access to municipal data. Yet, with a little strategy, convincing local governments to release their data need not be an insurmountable challenge. (
