The Next American City is a quarterly magazine about people and ideas in cities. We welcome writers from all walks of life to contribute both to our Daily Online Report, and to our quarterly print edition.

Submission guidelines for our Daily Online Report

Volunteer basis. 300-600 words concerning any relevant and/or timely issue that is not being featured on any major media site or blog. These stories can be news features or editorials. We encourage coherent and well-researched ideas. Please refrain from using first-person narration. Please send completed manuscripts to:
