São Paolo’s ad ban

Recent legislation has outlawed “visual pollution”, leaving São Paolo’s landscape dotted with blank billboards and decayed advertising frames. How can we creatively transform these high-profile vacancies? With art? With something else?

Place solar panels on empty billboards. A 14’x48’ billboard could theoretically produce 6720 watts per day. Multiplied by hundreds or thousands of billboards, the city could see a significant rise in clean energy production.
