Last week Philadelphia’s Mayor Nutter presented a new plan for reviving Philadelphia’s waterfront to packed audience at the Museum of Natural History. I didn’t make it to the event, but have been eagerly awaiting some of the response. As per usual, Philadelphians are pretty down on their city. But now they’re picking on the block where I work (seen at right in earlier days)…

Michael Nutter, mayor of Philadelphia, will help local NPR partner station WHYY kick off its new multi-platform broadcast program, It’s Your City tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. The live hour-long program offers Delaware Valley residents the opportunity engage the new mayor.

“Steve Scher of KUOW-FM and I recently walked from Seattle’s University District to Hooter’s and jumped the SLUT. It was a nice little ride, my first. Now that the hoopla’s died down, it was a chance to get a sense of how Seattle’s streetcar of dreams is doing trundling along the streets of Allentown.”
As an aside, just look at the lengths to which the green movement has gone in Seattle.
