Diana Lind to Speak at Creative Cities Summit

In a week, I’ll be in Detroit attending the Creative Cities Summit. Billed as “a three-day conference rooted in the creative economy movement” the event will turn up some of the usual well-respected suspects (Richard Florida, Carol Coletta, Majora Carter, etc.) and some people I haven’t heard of (Ed Bailey of Austin City Limits, Kate Runyon of the Triangle Foundation, etc.).
The agenda should fit under this umbrella:
A dynamic and engaging Web 2.0 enabled conversation about how communities around the world are integrating innovation, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, arts & culture and business to create vibrant economies.
Am I the only person tired of seeing or hearing the terms"innovation" and “sustainability”? I know that sounds terribly cynical, but I am really looking forward to these speakers pressing beyond the typical conversations about these topics.
A few hints about my speech: I’ll be discussing young leader organizations around the country, using examples like NOLA YURP and GLUE. What are some fantastic local organizations that you know of that I’m probably missing?

A great young leaders organization located here in Portland is the City Club of Portland’s Young Leader’s Council. The Young Leader’s Council is made up of citizens under 30 who plan events and engage in discussions surrounding Portland’s civic issues such as local food, farmers markets, and farmers, parks, and national issues such as the election and “sustainability.” :)
