It’s official. Next American City is proud to announce that FOLIO: Magazine has just named our magazine as the Best Redesign for an Association/Nonprofit and presented us with our very own Ozzie!
The Ozzie Awards, which recognize excellence in magazine awards, now puts Next American City in the likes of other Ozzie winners including Bon Appetit, Billboard, Good and Travel + Leisure to name a few. We received the award for our 19th issue. A few key facts about that issue (in lieu of an acceptance speech): On the cover, we had a great photo by Michael Itkoff (his work was also featured in the Gallery section of the magazine). Also contributing to the excellence of the issue were graphic design by Keith A. Webb and David Senior— they really maximized the character of the features section where we have writing by Brentin Mock and photography by Yoko Inoue and Neil Alexander among many others. Last but not least, Matt Scobey and Samantha Schneider really came through with their assistance, particularly on a spread relating our trip to New Orleans.
Nice work, team!

Congratulations on the award!! Since design figures as one of several discourses in your magazine, it’s nice to see the design of the magainze itself honored in this way.
